Sweet Potato Vermicelli



500g oriental style vermicelli (available in Asian store)

750g pork neck, chopped roughly

200g snow peas

1 big carrot, cut into matchsticks

1/2 chinese cabbage

2 tbsp vegetable oil

1 onion, chopped

1 clove garlic, crushed

1 cup vegetable stock

2 tbsp soy sauce

3 tbsp sesame oil

1/2 tsp ground black pepper


1.  Add vermicelli in a boiling water and cook for about 5 minutes.  Rinse in cold water and drain two or three times.  Set aside.

2.  Meanwhile, heat oil in a big saucepan or wok.  Add onion and garlic and cook until it’s softened.  Add pork,  cook, stirring, occasionally for about 5 minutes.  Add stock, soy sauce, pepper and sesame oil; simmer; add carrot, snow peas and chinese cabbage.  Cook for about 2-3 minutes.

3.  Serve vermicelli top with vegetable mixture.
